The Plateau State Chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC on Tuesday said it has uncovered plans by some powerful individuals to destabilise the forthcoming general elections.
The party also threatened to reveal the identity of those working behind the scene to destabilise the forthcoming general polls.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen and signed by Hon. Sylvanus Namang, the APC State Publicity Secretary.
The statement reads that as the 2023 general elections draw closer, the All Progressives Congress in Plateau State has uncovered grand plans by some highly placed and disgruntled individuals in the state to destabilise the party ahead of the general elections.
Hon. Namang also said that they are fully aware that there is no way the APC would not win the general elections, especially the gubernatorial election with the credible combination of Dr Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe and Hon. Pam Bot Mang, these subterranean forces have been recruiting some willing youths to cause confusion in order to distract the party from concentrating on its legitimate, awesome and novel campaign strategies.
He said, as part of this dastardly act, these shameless so-called leaders who had looted and bled the state dry in the past have hired hoodlums with mouth-watering sums to embark on violent protest at the APC state Secretariat along Yakubu Gowon Way with the aim of installing a so-called factional Chairman in the person of one Ishaya Itse who has since been expelled from the party.
They added that ” An opposition party in the state, in league with some disgruntled characters and former members of the party, realising that there is no way they can stop Dr Nentawe from winning the governorship election, having lost all the court cases against the party, have decided on the planned violent option.”

Furthermore, he reveals that they have it on good account of recorded statements of their nocturnal meetings and plans to cause mayhem and disrupt the relative peace the state is presently enjoying.
The statement added that ” The party has informed security agencies in the state to take all proactive measures of keeping an eye on these individuals and to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
According to the statement, the party would be left with no option but to reveal the identity of these characters working behind the scene as the APC would not sit and watch on the sidelines these harbingers and agents of destruction and destabilisation stand on its way to victory outside the ballot box.”
They called on its members, supporters and well-wishers whom the candidates have fully engaged and interacted with individually and severally to keep faith and trust in the ability of the array of credible candidates of the party to deliver on their well-invented and articulated campaign promises of the Plateau of our collective dream woven around the peacebuilding efforts of Governor Simon Bako Lalong who has changed the trajectory of governance in the state, the statement further reads.
