Police comb Osun community to fish out criminals

Police in Osun State have intensified efforts to curb criminal tendencies.

The development is coming barely two weeks after the operatives attached to the anti-Cultism arrested a suspected serial killer and cultist who has been terrorizing the people of the state, Rasheed Hammed aka Oko Ilu.

It was learnt that police men combed Egbatedo area of Oshogbo, the state capital to search for suspected members of unlawful society.

During the raid, they recovered two guns,10 rounds of live ammunition, three machetes’, charms and other dangerous weapons.

A source said the operatives acted on credible intelligence and swoop on the hot spot where a number of people have been assaulted.

He said “the brave operatives succeeded in recovering arms and other dangerous weapons during the said operation at Egbatedo area of Osogbo and this means a lot to the residents of the area.

“We urge the police to please do more and help restore normalcy to the area and its environs.”

There have been concerns over the influx of members of unlawful society in the state and the proliferation of firearms.

This was attributed to cultism operations and hooliganism.

This is said to be fuelling the raging insecurity, including bloodletting in some parts of the state.
