Police fire tear gas to disperse #EndSARSMemorial protesters

The Nigerian Police operatives who are at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos have fired tear gas to disperse #EndSARSMemorial Protesters.

Recall that the protesters were there on Wednesday morning from 8 am, till about 11 am.

The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu speaking at the protest ground, said that those who organised the protest said it would start at 8 am and ends at about 11 am which is about two-hours

He went on to say that some thugs have cashed in on the protest and that the police nabbed some people with cutlass and knives.

 

Folarin Falana aka Falz, and Adebowale Adedayo, Mr Macaroni the organisers of the #EndSARS anniversary protests in Lagos had on Tuesday said they would embark on a two-hour car procession through the Lekki Tollgate.

They had said that they were organising the protest ‘in memory of the lives lost on 20-10-20,’ as well as saying that there would be a memorial car procession on Wednesday taking place at the Lekki toll gate by 8am to 10am.

They enjoined those who will take part in the car procession to stay in our vehicles all throughout the procession and also in groups for safety reasons.

In another development, the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has told Nigerian youths to keep fighting to fulfil the dream of a better Nigeria.

Adeyemi in ost on his Facebook age said that that the adults will not hold the stage forever.

He said: ‘Dear young Nigerian, we adults will not hold the stage forever. You own the future. Keep moving to fulfill the dream of a Nigeria and Africa that empower all without discrimination, creating political, economic and cultural development. Your efforts will not be in vain. #EndSARS’
