Police say I defamed, Ned Nwoko, useless people, Sowore speaks of arrest

The publisher of Sahara Reporters Omoyele Sowore who was arrested yesterday by security operatives in Abuja, has said that the Nigeria Police Force arrest and detention him because he defamed Ned Nwoko.

Human Rights’ lawyer Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN) on Thursday speaking on Sowore’s arrest and release said the police did not give any reasons for the arrest of the human rights’ activist nothing that Sowore has been denied access to his lawyers, doctors, family members, political allies, and comrades before he was later released.

But Sowore in a tweet said: ‘Released from Nigeria Police Force idiotic arrest and detention. They claimed I defamed …, Ned Nwoko! Useless people.’

Sowore has been facing trial on account of his lawful campaigns for democracy and good governance. He has been restricted to Abuja where he has been staying for well over four years now.

It would be recalled that the younger brother of Sowore was attacked and brutally murdered in very suspicious circumstances.
