Pray for Nigeria, Plateau – Sen Daduut tells Christian pilgrims

By Israel Joel
The Senator representing Plateau South in the National Assembly Prof Dame Nora Daduut, on Saturday charged pilgrims traveling to Jordan for the 2020 holy pilgrimage to pray for the country and Nigeria especially with the challenges it is currently facing.

Senator Daduut who represented the Senate Committee Chairman on Foreign affairs Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa further called on pilgrims to take the opportunity to pray for themselves, leaders in authority, families, and friends.

Our correspondent reports that the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC flagged off this year’s pilgrimage to the kingdom of Jordan at the Yakubu Gowon Airport, Heipang, Jos, Plateau State on Saturday.

This is the first time the Commission would be airlifting pilgrims from the Yakubu Gowon Airport to the Holy Land.

Dame Nora said, ” This is Indeed an epoch event and a long dream being fulfilled .”

She lauded the Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong for the good works he is doing in Plateau.

In her words ” This is the first time pilgrims are being airlifted from Plateau, this is no doubt due to the efforts of the Governor of Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong .”

Prof. Daduut however cautioned those who may have bad intentions of absconding or using the pilgrimage only for business or pleasure to desist as this would tarnish the image of the country, and also defeat the purpose of the exercise.

She stressed that “One of the benefits of the pilgrimage is for you to have piety and be holy, as such you should not remain in the same state you left, as your faith should be deepened .”
