The police on Wednesday block the arterial Moscow Road in Port Harcourt from traffic, causing serious holdups on the routes connecting the state secretariat complex and other adjoining roads.

Our correspondent learnt that the redirection of traffic from Moscow road was done to forestall possible attacks on the state police command headquarters, which is located on Moscow Road.

The action followed recent attacks on security formations in neighbouring Imo State where the Imo State Police Command Headquarters and the Correctional Services Base in Owerri were attacked by unknown gunmen on Monday night.
