A few policemen of the Igando police station have been accused of assault and extortion. This accusation was levelled on them by Prince Johnson, a Lagos based actor.
According to him, the policemen had requested for the sum of fifty thousand after a stop and search yielded no incriminating evidence against him. He went on to narrate their unprofessional behaviour as they took him to the station and tried to force him to give them a bribe. However, he was only able to give them eight thousand instead.
Balance Elkana, PRO of the state police has denied knowledge of the event and urged the aggrieved party to reach out to him.
