Principals Cup: S/West qualify for semi-final

Orile Comprehensive High School, Abeokuta, the South West representative in the football event of the revived National Principals Cup, have qualified for the semi-final of the competition.
The South West secured qualification with a win and a draw in the two matches played at the practice pitch of the Moshood Abiola National stadium, Abuja, on Sunday.
The Abeokuta boys defeated their South East counterparts, City Comprehensive College, Imo, 1-0 in their first group game before settling for a 1-1 draw against the South South team, Obule Integrated School, Delta, in their last group match.
NAN reports that six football teams from the zonal finals are participating in the finals in Abuja, which runs from Sunday to Tuesday.

Apart from football, the Abuja finals also have 24 table tennis players, 144 athletes slugging it out for honours.
The revived National Principals Cup is an initiative of the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, with the aim of developing sports at the grassroots, especially in secondary schools.
