Ramadan: Extend hands of fellowship to less privileged, Ondo monarch pleads.

A first-class monarch in Ondo state, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, the Olubaka of Oka-Akoko has called on Muslims particularly the well to do among them to use this holy month of Ramadan to extend their hands of fellowship and charity to the less privileged in the society to cushion the effects of the global economy.

The chairman, of the Akoko traditional council in his goodwill message on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan said the call became imperative when one considered the high cost of living and the living standards of the downtrodden.

The traditional ruler admonished the Muslims to use this period as spiritual rebirth when they need sober reflection and observe the fasting with Allah, purification of minds, fervent prayers and charitable activities must increase for Allah to accept their fasting.

He appealed for fervent prayers during this Ramadan so as to overcome various challenges facing the country including insecurity.

Oba Adeleye used the occasion to commiserate with victims of the Abuja- Kaduna train incident which claimed many lives urging communities to mobilize local vigilante and hunter groups to complement the regular security apparatus in order to fish out the criminal elements in the society.
