The Deputy Majority Leader, and member representing Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Peter Akpatason, in conjunction with the New Partnership for Africa Development, on Saturday concluded training for two hundred women and youths on Agricultural produce for export in his constituency.
The training which has kickstarted a week ago, is the second phase in the series of empowerment training, in the space of less than three months.
In a press release by the Media aide to the Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, Motunde Oga, said the first phase of this training was held in the month of October, 2020 with over Forty women and youths benefited from it, and all the beneficiaries were immediately given a start up cash of three hundred thousand naira each, to go and start the business.
According to him, “The same amount is expected to be released to these beneficiaries, to equally venture into the business of Agro-produce export, after this strategic training, which is billed to last for one week, is going to be intensive and expository, on the various areas that can be exploited in Agric produce for export.
“The training is held in three different centres at Igarra. And, the interesting thing about it is the fact that all Akoko-Edo people were considered, irrespective of party affiliation and inclination. This is in line with the President’s kind gesture to accommodate all Nigerians in his empowerment programmes and policies, in his quest to create wealth, and lifting Nigerians from poverty.
“Rt. Hon. Peter Akpatason, has promised never to abandon his people, and that he is fully committed to, for as long as he is given the opportunity by the people to serve them.”
