Rise in terrorism, arms trafficking, result of permeable border – Gov. Zulum

The permeable nature of Nigerian borders with Cameroun, Niger, and Chad has been pinpointed as the cause of the increase in arms trafficking and terrorism in Nigeria. This was said by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State.

While hosting IGP Mohammed Abubakar (rtd.), President of the Alumni Association of National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (AANIPSS), Governor Zulum stated that international borders need to be efficiently managed by security outfits as a way of curbing the rising insurgencies and arms trafficking in the country.

He also promised his administration’s support in the fight against terrorism.
