To reduce the adverse impact of the attacks that led to killings, burning of houses, and destruction of farm crops by terrorists in some communities in Plateau State, a Socio-cultural group Plateau Our Heritage Revival Initiative (POHri) yesterday donated food items to some affected communities.
The communities are Miango in Bassa LGA, Yalwa Zangam in Jos North LGA, and Kum in Riyom LGA that were affected by the violent crisis which led to the loss of lives.
Speaking at the occasion Convener of the group, Hon. Ayuba Dangwong said the group was moved by the challenges being faced by the people following the attacks and killings in their communities.
He condemned the unprovocative killings and called for arrest and prosecution of the culprits of the heinous acts. Chairman of the group, Hon. Alex Kwapnoe decried the inhuman and barbaric killings which he said are deliberately done to annihilate citizens.
He called on the State Government to revisit and reinvigorate the State Security Outfit, Operation Rainbow for optimal performance and strengthen community security efforts to assist in curbing insecurity.
He lauded the resilience of the Communities and charged security agencies to be more proactive in securing lives and property of the citizens.
“Human life is sacrosanct and no one should be allowed to kill another human being,” he said.
He urged the citizens to be security conscious, provide necessary information to security agencies and support their efforts to secure the society.

The group also said they will continue to work to unite the various ethnic groups in the State and enhance progress, growth, and development.
They disclosed that the group deemed it fit to intervene in order to reduce the humanitarian crisis being faced by the people.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Prince Robert Rigye Ashi lauded the group for identifying with them and providing them with foodstuffs to reduce the hardships being faced by the people who are now homeless.
Our Correspondent reports that items donated were Maize, Indomie, Spaghetti, Salt amongst other items.
