A Federal High Court in Rivers State has dismissed a suit filed by a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Morgan Tom-West over the outcome of the party’s primary.
Recall that Tom-West had in June, filed a suit against the PDP and its governorship candidate, Siminialayi Fubara, who emerged the winner of the governorship primary.
He had prayed the court to issue an order to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising Fubara as the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, claiming the latter did not score the highest votes during the election.

He also added that the party did not follow the terms and guidelines of the Electoral Act 2022.
Delivering the judgement on Friday, the presiding judge, Justice Adamu T. Mohammed ruled that Tom-West’s suit lacked competence, thereby dismissing it.
