Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government in Rivers State, Hope Ikiriko has said that Governor Siminalayi Fubara would be removed from office as easily as he was elected.
Ikiriko said this during an interview with Channels TV, accusing Fubara of being uninterested in restoring peace to the state.
He stated that the people possessed the mandate to make Fubara’s impeachment happen if the governor fails to properly manage the political crisis in the state.
“We have the majority of the people on our side and we have the mandate to do so. Now that the law has extended out tenure, we must do our jobs.
“It is only democratically elected people that can fill the Local Government Chairman gap. If you check the constitution, no other person is allowed to do so.
“We are not afraid of anything. When some people are talking about anarchy, it’s because they are the one fanning the embers and they are prepared for it.
“It is obvious that the governor seems like someone who is not interested in leadership and restoring peace to Rivers State. As we brought him (Fubara) there, God will also take him out”, Ikiriko said.
