Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has said that no amount of blackmail or intimidation will prevent him from doing what is right.
Wike said this during a closed-door meeting with governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday.
The PDP governors had paid a visit to Wike to mediate in the political crisis that erupted in Rivers State on Monday.
Speaking during the meeting, the Minister said that he would not stand by and watch the structure of the Rivers PDP to be tampered with.
Wike also denied allegations that he was in a rift with the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara over the latter’s refusal to remit 25% of state funds to him.
He said “Let me thank my brothers and friends for this wonderful visit. Just to appreciate Mr President for giving me this position and we will continue to work for Mr President to realise his renewed hope agenda.
“I have made it clear to everybody that I am not here for any party, I am here for the interest of Nigeria and for the unity of the country. I am still a PDP member and I have never hidden my decision.
“They have talked about the crisis in Rivers state, let me tell anybody who cares that nobody can intimidate me, it does not matter whether you bring thugs, or you say you are Ijaw. If I want to do something I will do it. Impeachment is not a military coup. Impeachment is provided under the constitution.

“About the rumours of money this and that, all that is rubbish. I just left office how many months ago and I am the FCT minister, which money. Nobody can take away our political structure, no one. For me, you cannot work and people will begin to bring enemies, those who fought you, nobody does that.”
He stated further that the President, Bola Tinubu had intervened and he looked forward to where it would lead them to.
“The President is our father, he has spoken, we will see where it takes us, but no amount of propaganda. My conscience is clear, nobody can rubbish me. I am not the person you can go to the social media and say all kinds of things and you go free, so becareful, I have the capacity to fight back.”
In attendance at the meeting include Bauchi governor, Bala Mohammed, alongside by Plateau, Adamawa and Taraba state governors.
