Rivers guber polls: ANAP opinion poll gives Fubara victory

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has been declared the most likely to win the gubernatorial election in the state.

This is according to a statewide opinion poll conducted by the Anap Foundation in collaboration with NOIPolls Limited for Rivers State.

The poll was conducted to gauge the opinions of voters in the state and the key issues that will influence their voting decision.

Results show that the PDP is the most popular political party in the state and is likely to maintain its hold.

20% of voters proposed to vote for Fubara while 11% threw their weight behind Senator Magnus Ngei of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Fubara’s success in the opinion poll was likely influenced by his campaign mantra, which hinges on continuity and consolidation of the work of the current governor, Nyesom Wike.

His strong presence in the media and his promises of economic growth and job creation for the state, alongside his support for local businesses are also contributing factors.

Tonye Patrick Cole of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was third with 10% and Chief Dumo Owukori Lulu-Briggs was fourth, with 6% of voters proposing to vote for him.

Undecided voters and those who prefer not to reveal their preferred candidate add up to a whopping 23% and 24% respectively.
