Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.) has appointed five members of the Civil Service Commission and seven members of the Local Government Service Commission in the state.
The development was made public on Wednesday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika.
According to the statement, the Civil Service Commission appointment includes: Dr Livinus Bariki, who will serve as the commission’s Chairman, while Amb. Lot Peter Egopija, Mrs Maeve Ere Bestman, Mrs Joy Obiaju, and Mrs Charity Lloyd Harry are all members.
For the Local Government Service Commission, Isreal N Amadi will serve as the Chairman while the members are: Linus Nwandem, Lady Christabel Ego George Didia, Dr Tonye Willie D Pepple, Barr Richard Ewoh, Rear Adm. Emmanuel Ofik (Rtd), and Dr Sammy Apiafi.
The statement read partly, “His Excellency, Vice Admiral ( Rtd) Ebok-Ete Ekwe Ibas CFR, Administrator of Rivers State has approved the appointment of members of the Civil Service Commission and Local Government Service Commission.”
The Appointments take effect from April 7, 2025, Worika added.
Earlier, Ibas approved the appointment of administrators for the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
