Rivers Ijaw stakeholders plan massive reception for FCT Minister, Wike

No stone was left unturned as various stakeholders from the Kalabari Kingdom in Rivers State prepare to honor Nyesom Wike the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and immediate past Governor of Rivers State.
The grand reception is slated to be held on March 15 (today) in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of the state.
The reception will take place in Abalama town, where a thanksgiving service will also be held.
The Ijaw stakeholders, under the auspices of the NEW Associates, expressed excitement about Wike’s visit to Kalabari, emphasizing the strong bond between the former governor and the people of the kingdom.
Speaking, Enemi George, the Chairman of the Publicity Committee for the event disclosed that chiefs, leaders, women, and youths from the Kalabari Kingdom regard Wike as a close friend and benefactor.
Explaining that all groups in the kingdom are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the former governor, George said the event Wike’s contributions to the Kalabari Kingdom and his longstanding relationship with its people.
George said, “All stakeholders in Kalabari are eagerly waiting to receive the FCT minister and to show him gratitude. March 15 has been set aside to celebrate Chief Nyesom Wike for his love for the Kalabari Kingdom and its people.
“Wike has always been a friend of the Kalabari kingdom, and his support for our people has been unwavering. This reception is a way to show our gratitude for his love and dedication to the progress of Kalabari.”
The Kalabari Kingdom is known for its rich culture and history, and the reception is expected to showcase the community’s unity and its respect for Wike.
The event will be attended by a wide range of political and traditional leaders, community elders, and well-wishers from across Rivers State.
