Rivers State Rainbow Coalition to unveil 2027 election candidates tomorrow

The Rivers State Rainbow Coalition has announced plans to officially unveil its candidates for the 2027 general election at a major political gathering scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The event, billed to take place at the General Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt, at 10 a.m., is expected to attract political leaders, stakeholders, party supporters and members of the public.

According to an official invitation released by the coalition, the unveiling will bring together political interests operating under the Rainbow Coalition platform ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.

The invitation prominently features the logos of five political parties: the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Action Alliance (AA), Labour Party (LP) and Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The inclusion of the five parties’ symbols underscores the coalition’s multiparty identity as political activities gather momentum ahead of the next general election.

In its invitation, the coalition called on distinguished guests, political leaders, stakeholders and members of the public to participate in the ceremony.

The organisers also adopted the slogans, “Rainbow Coalition,” “Tinubu is Our President” and “Stronger Together,” signalling the coalition’s public identification with and support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The planned unveiling comes amid growing political realignments in Rivers State as political parties and interest groups position themselves for the 2027 elections.

The gathering is expected to provide a platform for the coalition to formally present its candidates and demonstrate its political strength ahead of the electoral contest.

Although the invitation did not disclose the identities of the candidates to be unveiled or the specific elective offices they would contest, the event is being presented as a significant milestone in the coalition’s preparations for 2027.

The organisers urged members of the public to attend the ceremony, describing it as an opportunity to witness “history in the making.”

The invitation concluded with the declaration: “A new dawn beckons!”
