Rotary Club Unfolds N80m Development Project for Host Community

A nongovernmental organization, the Rotary Club of Ekpan, has said that it plans to spend about N80 million on humanity development project in its host community in the next one year.
Akpodiogaga Emeyese,who got installed as the 22 President of the club for the 2020/2021 rotary year, weekend explained that N56million would go for a plot of land for the Ekpan Rotary Centre while N5 million would be expended on 1,000 students, returning to schools.
Emeyse added that N9 million would be expended to enhance the existing micro credit scheme of the club for youths and women empowerment and N10 million for the construction of an Ante-Natal building for the state-owned Ekpan General hospital.
The Club President said that because Rotary considers anything that improves the overall well-being of humanity and increase or make positive impact in the society, it welcomes donations adding that the projects would open opportunities to all in the society.
He further said that the club in the fight against COVID-19 in September donated customised face masks, sanitisers, and drums in line with rotary focus on disease control, water and sanitation and promotion of rotary’s public image.
