A road crash early Monday morning along the busy Benin-Auchi Expressway ended the lives of a family of three: father, mother and their infant child.
The deceased, were reportedly heading towards Ehor, when their vehicle, a Toyota Camry went under a stationary lorry loaded with Coca Cola products.
The incident in front of the Nigeria Bottling Company, Eyaen near Benin City, an eyewitness said happened at about 3am.
Many residents were still asleep in the quiet Eyaen community when the accident occurred but got jolted from their sleep by the noise of the crash.
Meanwhile the corpses have been deposited at the morgue of White Cross Hospital, Ogueka, suburban Benin as officials make efforts to locate the relatives of the deceased.
Contacted, Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Henry Benamaisia said that he was yet to be briefed of the crash.
