The Lagos State Building Investment Company (LBIC) has been instructed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, to provide mortgage for Lagosians.
Sanwo-Olu is optimistic that Lagosians can benefit from competitive mortgage and encouraged the LBIC to work with the government to make the dream of owning a house in Lagos a reality.
Mr Hakeem Oguniran, Chairman of the LBIC, promised the governor that the LBIC would take advantage of the government’s willingness and policies to provide competitive mortgages for Lagosians.
Oguniran said, “We already have funding from the Federal Mortgage Bank of N1b and we need to begin to see how civil servants in Lagos State will be able to access that funding and own their homes.”
