5,000 PDP, APGA supporters dump parties for APC in Nasarawa

No fewer than 5,000 supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC and All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, all of the Tiv extraction at the weekend, dumped their political parties for the rulling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.

Speaking during the decamping ceremony in Kuduku, Keana Local Government Area of the state, leader of the decampees, Hon. Peter Igbacher said they were attracted to the APC because of the exemplary leadership style of the state governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, that has brought about relative peace in the state which hitherto was a challenge.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule at the occasion, inaugurated a political group under the umbrella of Tiv Youth Vanguard for Engr. AA Sule.
The governor, while inaugurating the political group in Kuduku, noted that the youths have been integral part of his government’s policies and programmes and will continue to work with all youth groups in the interest of the state.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barr. Mohammed Ubandoma, the governor tasked the Tiv youth vanguard to ensure full mobilisation of support for the All Progressives Congress, APC ahead of feature elections, acknowledging the influence of the youths in entrenching good governance in all democratic societies.

While commending the initiators of the youth vanguard, the governor appreciated the Tiv community for their show of solidarity to his government and assured of his administration’s continued commitment to achieving peace and security of the state.

Earlier, Coordinator of the group and Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Conflict Resolution, Engr. Moses Utondu, explained that the youth vanguard was a grassroot-based political movement of the Tiv youth with a mandate to sensitise and mobilise the Tiv people of the state towards supporting the APC government at all levels.

According to him the formation of the group was also meant to support the governor for his possible 2023 reelection bid and in appreciation for his people-oriented policies and programmes particularly in the area of security which he said the Tiv people were major beneficiaries.
