Christmas: Fubara reaffirms commitment to honour presidential peace pact

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his commitment to honouring the presidential peace pact brokered to settle the political crisis in Rivers State.

He gave the assurance during his Christmas message broadcast to the people of Rivers on Monday, December 25th.

The governor added that there was nothing wrong with the resolutions reached by both paries as being portrayed by some individuals.

ThisNigeria reported that President Bola Tinubu had called for a reconciliation meeting between Fubara and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

At the end of the meeting, some resolutions were reached to bring restore peace between the two parties.

Some of them include the reinstatement of pro-Wike commissioners that resigned from Fubara’s cabinet; recognition of the Martin Amaewhule-led state assembly and payment of allowances of lawmakers that defected from the PDP to the APC.
