The Senate has resolved to receive and consider the report of the Senate Committee on Appropriation on the N895 billion Supplementary Budget next Tuesday.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, made this disclosure on Wednesday following a Point of Order raised by the Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Sen. Jibrin Barau (Kano North), to highlight the need to defer the presentation of the report till next Tuesday contrary to the request of the Senate to have the report this Wednesday.
Accordingly, the Senate President okayed Barau’s request as it is imperative for the Senate and the House of Representatives Appropriation Committees to have a joint report.

His words: “If you have to lay the report on Tuesday, from tomorrow up to Monday, you have to do a proper scrutiny; work with the House of Representatives so that you will have a joint report and don’t have to go into harmonization. Leave no stone unturned in considering the issues, item by item, and the Senate will receive the report and consider it on Tuesday.”
