Senegal stun D’Tigers in Pre- Olympic basketball qualifier

Senegal men’s basketball team yesterday stunned their Nigerian counterparts D’Tigers narrowly at the ongoing France 2024 Pre- Olympic qualifiers holding at Eko Hotel Victoria Island Lagos.

The Senegalese won the keenly contested game by 93 – 87 points.

The coach Ogor Odaudu-led side started the game on a bright note and had to make good use of three points to prevail over their opponents in the well-contested first quarter which they won narrowly by 26-25.

In the second quarter, the Senegalese came out smoking, taking the battle to D’Tigers, who occasionally struggle to contain their opponents, who won the quarter by two points at 46-44 points, Nigeria took the third quarter by just one point of 68-67.

In the final and decisive fourth quarter, the Senegalese dictated the tone of the game making the Nigerian players to commit many fouls with the point guards blowing away their chances while the Senegalese were better in the rebound which enabled them to open up a ten points lead as D’ Tigers struggle to close the gap as the game ended 93-87.
