SGoF appeals for special funds to manage sensitive data

The Surveyor General of the Federation (SGoF), Surv. Abuduganiyu Adeyemi Adebomehin has passionately appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approval of a special fund to transmit sensitive documents and records at the disposal of the Office of the Surveyor General of the Federation (OSGoF) to the Cloud.

Surv. Adebomehin said that vital documents and records of the country and the assets of the Federal Government at the disposal of OSGoF are enormous and need to be secured in the cloud, noting that the paucity of funds is hindering the process.

The SGoF called for a presentation to facilitate the Service Wide Personnel Management System Implementation Handholding Exercise for the members of management and staff of OSGoF at the Survey House in Abuja.

Spokesperson of the agency, Mr Abu Michael, in a statement, said the Surveyor General of the Federation applauded the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan for the ongoing reforms of the civil service of the country stressing that OSGoF has constituted a Committee on Transition to Cloud Storage System under the Chairmanship of the Director of the Department of Infrastructure, Surv. Sally Ekagbo with all other Directors and HoDs of the 13 technical departments as members.

Other members of the committee are the director of Survey Intelligence, Surv. Emmanuel Nwankama; Acting Director Geodesy and SA to the SGoF, Surv. Danlandi Abubakar Ebune; HoD Planning, Research and Documentation, Surv. Sylvester Obiajulu Okafor; HoD Special Duties, Surv. Chukwuemeka Nwogu; HoD Survey Coordination, Surv. The Semiu Akani Ayinde; HoD Internal Boundary, Surv. Duniya Magaji; amongst several others.
