A former senator representing Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, has condemned the abduction of eight corps members by bandits.
On Saturday, eight National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members were abducted along a highway in Zamfara State.
They were said to be traveling inside AKTC bus from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to Sokoto State en route Zamfara
Reacting to the news through X platform, formerly known as Twitter, Sani described the abduction as “an avoidable tragedy.”

He said, “The news of the abduction of Youth Corpers by terrorists along the highway in Zamfara state is unfortunate; it’s an avoidable tragedy, knowing the dangers of that road, but we now have to deal with it.
“Everything must be done by the Government to secure the lives and freedom of the victims.”
