Shehu Sani reacts as missing journalist, Tordue Salem is found dead

A former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the death of a journalist, Tordue Salem, who was declared missing in October.

The Vanguard reporter’s remains were said to have been recovered on Thursday, November 11.

Recall that Salem was reported to have been last seen on October 13, 2021, around Total filling station, close to the Force headquarters, Abuja.

One suspect, Prince Enyenihi, 25, has been arrested for attempting to extort the deceased’s family.

Enyenihi had sent a text message to Salem’s wife with a concealed number demanding N100 million as ransom.

He, however, confessed that he obtained the phone number of the deceased’s wife from a missing person flyer.

Reacting to the news of Tordue’s death, Sani urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to address the increasing level of insecurity in the nation’s capital.

He tweeted: “It’s tragic to hear that the missing Vanguard Newspaper reporter, Tordue Salem has been found dead in Abuja. The Minister of the FCT and other heads of security agencies must wake up and address this increasing level of insecurity in the city. RIP Salem.”
