After demolishing Wisdom Chibueze of Abia 6-1, 6-1 in the men’s semifinals of the tennis event of the ongoing Niger Delta Games, Rahman Ahmed of Ondo says no one can stop him from winning the gold.

Ahmed will face Wisdom Effiong of Akwa Ibom State in today’s final. Effiong had defeat Chinedu Obinna, also of Abia State 6-2, 7-5 in the second semifinals.

In his post match interview yesterday (Monday, 23rd February 2026), Ahmed, who is playing in his first ever final, declared that the gold is his target and nothing short of that, as he is well prepared and ready to face any opponent that comes his way.

“This tournament is a good platform for me because I have been able to reach my first final since I started playing tennis.

“I trained very hard for the competition and I am happy it is yielding positive results for me,” he said.

“It was very tough getting to this stage because when I watched my opponent, he was very good. So, beating him to reach the final, I am going to use that momentum to win the gold.

“I prepared to win this tournament. I’m not ready to finish as runner-up. I want to win the championship,” he added.
