Don’t appoint liabilities as ministers, Baba-Ahmed, tells Tinubu

The Spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Monday, told President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not to appoint liabilities into his cabinet, to avoid stagnation in the economy and national development.

 

Dr. Baba-Ahmed, who gave this charge, when he appeared on AIT breakfast show, FOCUS Nigeria, said that some former Governors performed so terribly in office that they would be liabilities to the incumbent administration if appointed ministers.

 

Noting that Nigerians would be unhappy if some of these poorly performed Governors are appointed into his cabinet, the spokesperson of NEF, also cautioned the president to overcome the temptations of giving priority to his ethnic group, while constituting his cabinet.

 

He told Tinubu to ensure that all sections of the country is accommodated in his government, in the spirit of Federal Character principles.

 

He further tasked the president to probe the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari if need be so as to recover stollen funds where necessary.

“There were some who worked with President Buhari who committed all manners of constitutional breaches, including abuse of office. They should be made to pay for their arbitrariness,” he said.
