Some policemen are desperate to tarnish Force’s image – Pelumi Olajengbesi

Lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi has decried the rate at which some policemen work to tarnish the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

In a post made on Facebook, the lawyer wondered why some officers of the Force behave irrationally thereby imprinting biases against the police in the mind of the citizens.

“Why are some officers so desperate to tarnish the reputation of the Nigeria Police Force? Is it due to hunger, poverty, or a deeper issue of orientation?” He queried.

To back his claim, Olajengbesi narrated what reportedly transpired between two corp members and a police inspector in Abuja.

The lawyer wrote, “A police inspector, of all people, arrested two corps members as they were about to board a taxi in Asokoro, insisting aggressively that they follow him to the station. After much pleading, they reluctantly complied while he continued to ask his questions. Eventually, as he wasted their time, there was no reasonable suspicion, he suddenly ordered the taxi to stop and told them they were free to go leaving them to settle the taxi fare. It tastes very bad.”
