SSDC, NPHCDA partner to improve healthcare in South-South

The South-South Development Commission (SSDC) and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) have announced a partnership to improve healthcare outcomes in the South-South region.
The partnership aims to accelerate immunization coverage, advance malaria-free interventions, and revitalize community health centers. The SSDC will serve as the official implementation hub for NPHCDA collaborations in the region.
According to the SSDC Managing Director, Ms. Usoro Akpabio, the partnership will eliminate duplication, optimize resources, and deliver impactful results to communities.
“This partnership sets the stage for stronger, inclusive, and sustainable healthcare delivery for our people. By aligning the SSDC’s regional mandate with the NPHCDA’s national blueprint, we can eliminate duplication, optimize resources, and deliver visible, impactful results to our communities with a sense of urgency”, Akpabio stressed.
The collaboration will pursue key initiatives, including joint actions to improve vaccine uptake in underserved communities and support for the national “Malaria-Free Nigeria” agenda.
The NPHCDA CEO, Dr. Muyi Aina, pledged a close working relationship with the SSDC, particularly in training frontline health workers and supporting member states in hiring and deploying Skilled Birth Attendants and Community Health workers.
