The Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) has announced that the ongoing nationwide strike will persist despite the agreement reached with the Federal Government during Monday’s meeting.
In a post on X, the congress stated on Tuesday that the industrial action, which has significantly impacted the nation’s economy, will continue until the union’s organs meet to review all resolutions from Monday’s discussions.
“Until we hear from our organs at our meeting scheduled for today, June 4, we are still on strike,” the post read.
Following a six-hour meeting with organized labour leaders in Abuja, the Federal Government reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to increasing the minimum wage from N60,000.
