Suleja #EndSARS Protest turns violent as Area Boys attacks protesters
The EndSARS Protest in Suleja local government area of Niger State, turned bloody as some of the area boys within the local council dispersed the peaceful procession by stoning and beating up some of the protesters.
The protesters who took to the streets along the Barracks area of Madalla-Suleja route, Niger State, demanded good governance, end to corruption, decried high unemployment rate, the poor state of roads, potable water and health facilities in Niger State and the country at large.
Also, a protesters was stabbed and quickly rushed to the General Hospital in Suleja for proper medical care.
Adamu Muazu, a butcher at the popular IBB market in suleja said, he “narrowly escaped being lynched by the angry area boys whose mission was to stop any form of protest in their land.
” Na God save me, they thought I am one of the #EndSARS protesters” he added
The protesters called on the Nigerian army and other security agencies not to take irrational decisions against the innocent citizens who are clamouring for improved welfare for the security operatives and an end to brutality against armless citizens.
Similarly, the convener of the protest in SULEJA demanded good roads, water, youths empowerment, steady power supply, good education structure, fighting security among others.
