Nigeria’s apex court, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed His Holiness, Olumba Olumba as leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.

This follows a unanimous judgment of 8th November 2021 delivered by Honourable Justice Olukayode Ariwoola which dismissed the substantive appeal filed by Helen Johnson Udo aka Queen Mother (deceased).

This is contained in a release made available in Calabar by the Office of the Spokesman and signed by the BCS Spokesman, Christ Shepherd Edet Archibong.

The spokesman said the legal battle for the leadership, control, management, and administration of the BCS Worldwide as initiated by Helen Udo against the Registered Trustees of the BCS being headed by His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu.

Christ Shepherd Archibong said “It must be recalled that in 2008, the suit filed in the Federal High Court by the Registered Trustees of the BCS challenging the attempt by Helen Udo to manage, control, and administer the BCS succeeded.

“She was restrained from interfering in the affairs, assets, properties, finances, and administration of the BCS.

“Helen Johnson Udo appealed against the judgment and orders of the Federal High Court to the Court of Appeal Calabar where her appeal was dismissed.

“Still dissatisfied, Helen Johnson Udo appealed to the Supreme Court in 2011 for a reversal of the judgment of the Court of Appeal which came to an end at the Apex Court on the 8th November 2021”, he said.

He emphasized that by the decision of the Supreme Court, the divine position occupied by His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu as the Executive Chairman and Head of Administration and indeed Leader of the BCS Worldwide has been affirmed.

He said the action of Helen Johnson Udo has ended and those who took refuge in the legal process she initiated no longer have any legal basis for their action.
