Suspected Fulani herdsmen invade Benue community, kill 30

About 30 people have been killed by assailants suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Odugbeho village, Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.

Chairman of Agatu Local Government, Sule Adoyi, confirmed the attack which occurred on Sunday at about 5:45 pm.

According to Adoyi, 27 bodies have been recovered from scenes of the attack.

It was further learnt the herdsmen, who came in from Nasarawa State, invaded the village and started shooting sporadically, killing many residents in the process, after which they disappeared into the bushes.

A Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abah Moro, also confirmed the incident in a statement via his official Facebook page.

“I’m deeply saddened by the attack on Odugbeho community in Agatu LGA on Sunday, which claimed over 40 lives of my constituents. This is highly condemnable and very unacceptable.

“For how long will this carnage continue unabated in Benue South? Enough should be enough,” the statement r
