I didn’t make a penny from Ejeagha’s song – Brain Jotter

Popular Nigerian skit maker, Chukwuebuka Amuzie, also known as Brain Jotter, has revealed that contrary to the belief that he has made a fortune out of the viral “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” trend, he did not make a penny.
According to the entertainer, who used Ejeagha’s song for content creation was reacting to concerns that he might exploit Mike Ejeagha, the singer of the 40-year hit song, he is not profiting from the viral trend.
He acknowledged the valid concerns about ensuring Ejeagha benefits from his work and explained that no financial gain is being made from the song.
He said, “For those who think we ripped him off or we’re making money from this whole thing, I understand your concerns and they are very valid. I appreciate the fact that you want him to get value for his hard work, which is very valid, and I want you to understand that you are doing something good,” Brain Jotter stated as he posted a video on Tuesday of his visit to the music legend.
He explained, saying, “At the end of the day, no dime was made from this song by me, nothing like that.”

Brain Jotter detailed how content monetisation works on various platforms, emphasising that all revenue from the song is directed to Mike Ejeagha’s record label and production company.
He explained that platforms like YouTube and Facebook automatically allocate revenue from copyrighted material to the rightful owner.
He also stated that the song’s streaming numbers have increased, further benefiting Ejeagha.
“All revenue goes directly to Mike Ejeagha,” he assured.
Regarding the two million naira he gifted to Ejeagha, Brain Jotter clarified, “The two million naira was a personal gift from me, not for profit but for humanity.”
He expressed his satisfaction with the joy the challenge has brought, stating, “The true reward is the joy in his heart; that’s my profit.”
