The defendant, who lives in the Oke-Odo area of Lagos State, is being tried for defilement.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, ASP. Bisi Ogunleye told the court that the defendant committed the offense in May at his residence.

He said the teenager unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the girl.

“The parents of the girl interrogated their daughter after it was discovered that she had been defiled.

“She mentioned the defendant’s name as the perpetrator,” the prosecutor said.

He said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

The Section 137 stipulates life imprisonment.
