Sokoto Governor, Aminu Tambuwal loses brother

Alhaji Muhammadu Bello, elder brother to the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has died.

This was made known in a statement by the Governor on Wednesday.

According to Tambuwal, Alhaji Bello died on Tuesday evening.

“It is with sublime submission to the will of Allah (SWT) that I announce the death of my precious elder brother, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello, Wazirin Tambuwal.

“The octogenarian, who died Tuesday evening, has been the Vizier of Tambuwal for the past 37 years, having succeeded our late beloved father, Alhaji Umar Waziri Usmanu.

“He will be buried according to Islamic rites this morning in Tambuwal town.

“May Allah forgive him his shortcomings and grant him Aljanna Firdaus. Amin,” the statement read.

A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar also mourned the deceased via Twitter on Wednesday.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un!My prayers are with my brother and friend, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on the passing of his dear elder brother, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello.

“As we mourn the passing of this great man, we pray that Almighty Allah grants him a place in Al Jannah Firdaus, and gives his family and the people of Tambuwal the strength that they need at this time,” he tweeted.
