Adeyanju attacks Pastor Ibiyeomie for threatening to arrest critics, bloggers

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has tackled Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries over his threat to arrest and detain anyone who reports on him negatively.

The preacher, in a trending video, had accused some bloggers of deliberately twisting his messages and alleged that certain church members were working against him.

Declaring that he would not tolerate misrepresentation, Ibiyeomie vowed to take firm action against anyone who “crosses the line.”

Reacting in a post made on social media, the lawyer expressed his disappointment in the cleric over his threats.

He further argued that behaviours like that of the preacher demarket the Christian faith, noting that Ibiyeomie acted like an unbeliever.

He said, “I’m so disappointed in Papa David Ibiyeomie’s warning and threatening Nigerians not to talk or criticize him or his church else he will lock them up. Who are you sir that people can’t talk about your church or criticize you? People criticized Jesus and He did not lock them up. And boasting about using police to lock people up, a pastor ooo! These pastors are acting like unbelievers and de-marketing Christianity. They are the reason many people are no longer going to church. A religious leader talking like this. What will you now expect from politicians when they become dictatorial?”
