Shehu Sani tackles Niger Junta leader for accusing Nigeria, others of sponsoring terrorism
A former Senator representing Kaduna Central zone in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani has slammed General Abdourahamane Tchiani, the Niger Republic junta leader for accusing Nigeria of sponsoring terrorism in the country.
Earlier, Tchiani had accused Nigeria Algeria, and Benin Republic of conniving with the governments of France and the United States of America to destabilise Niger by funding terrorist groups.
Reacting to the junta leader’s claim, the former Nigerian lawmaker described it as “unreasonable, irresponsible and irrational”, adding that Nigeria is facing more terrorist attacks on all fronts.
Sani wrote on Facebook, “If Nigeria can influence terror groups, it would have solved its problems. The claim against Algeria is also false, taking cognisance of the current diplomatic standoff between Algeria and France.
“Those supporting the spurious Claim made by the Niger Head of State are not being realistic and true to themselves, and are unkind and inhumane to the victims of terrorism in Nigeria. Mr Tchiani should try and find the solutions to his country’s problems instead of looking for a scapegoat.”
The former lawmaker also challenged his Facebook followers who could prove the claim of Tchiani to make use of the post’s comment section to make the evidence available.
