Energia appoints Oshisanya to strengthen board governance

Energia Limited has appointed veteran finance and energy executive, Adetokunbo Oshisanya, as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its Board, in a move aimed at strengthening corporate governance and supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.

The appointment took effect in May 2026, according to a statement on Sunday in Lagos by the indigenous oil and gas exploration and production company.

Oshisanya joins the Board with more than four decades of leadership experience spanning the energy, financial services, pension administration and development sectors across Africa and Europe.

Energia said her appointment underscored the company’s commitment to “strong corporate governance, strategic oversight, and sustainable value creation.”

The company described Oshisanya as the first Nigerian female Chief Financial Officer of an international oil and gas company in Nigeria, having served as Executive Director, Finance & Control and Chief Financial Officer of TotalEnergies EP Nigeria.

During her career at TotalEnergies, she held several senior management positions across Nigeria, France, South Africa and the Netherlands, overseeing financial operations, joint venture partnerships, enterprise transformation programmes and performance management systems.

Chairman of Energia Limited, George Osahon, said the company was pleased to bring her extensive industry and governance experience onto the Board.

“We are delighted to welcome Tai Oshisanya to the Board of Energia Limited. Her exceptional leadership experience, governance expertise, and deep understanding of the energy industry will bring invaluable insight to our Board,” Osahon said.

He added that her “strategic perspective and wealth of experience will support our long-term growth ambitions and commitment to creating sustainable value for all stakeholders.”

Oshisanya currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the boards of several financial institutions and is actively involved in promoting corporate governance, leadership development and women’s economic empowerment initiatives.

Speaking on her appointment, Oshisanya described Energia as “a respected indigenous operator with a strong commitment to operational excellence, local content development, and sustainable growth.”

Energia said the appointment aligns with its strategy of attracting accomplished professionals with diverse expertise to strengthen its governance framework and support its strategic objectives.
