Lagos residents who partook in the land allocation programme by the Land Bureau in 2009 have decried the government’s inability to provide their lands or refund their money.
Ten years on, and participants are yet to receive their allocations of land at Orisan Waterfront Residential Scheme, Lekki, and Millennium Residential Scheme 1, Ibogbo, GRA, Ikorodu. Participants bought a plot of land in Igbogbo for N455,412 and N3,308,640 in Orisan Waterfront respectively, after receiving their allocation letters.
A few participants who have reached out to Lagos officials are saddened by the news that there are no lands in the aforementioned sites and they would have to pay additional fees to be relocated to another site.
However, Mr Bode Agoro, permanent secretary of the Land Bureau, has stated that the project will be actualized once the state government finishes redesigning the sites.
