As part of his birthday celebration, Niger Delta philanthropist and businessman, Dr Kojo Sam, has empowered 100 women with a ₦50 million grant across several communities in Bayelsa State.

The gesture, he said, was divinely inspired and aimed at alleviating poverty and supporting the less privileged.

Sam, the Managing Director of Kojo Sam Logistics and Labrador Security Services, stated that each of the 100 beneficiaries received ₦500,000.

The empowerment covered communities including Opu-Nembe, Nembe City, Okpoama, Odioma, Oluasiri, and Obioku in Nembe and Brass Local Government Areas.

The philanthropist emphasised that his initiative is aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he praised for creating opportunities in the Niger Delta, particularly through the engagement of local actors in protecting oil infrastructure.

He lauded Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for his inclusive leadership under the Tantita Security Services framework, which he said has stabilised the region and boosted local empowerment.

“President Tinubu has done very well. His decision to allow Niger Deltans to protect oil facilities under the leadership of Tompolo is transforming lives. This opportunity would not have existed without the President. The people of Nembe are fully behind him, and we will give him more than 100% support for a second term,” Kojo declared.

While stressing that he harbours no political ambition, Kojo said his motivation stems purely from compassion and a divine mandate to support people in need.

“I believe in giving to the less privileged. Our society is battling hunger and poverty. God led me to support these 100 women. I am not contesting for any position; this is my way of giving back,” he said.

He also called for unity and peace among the people of Nembe and the broader Niger Delta, urging them to eschew conflict and work together to build a better society.
