NOC President charges Nigerians on physical exercise

 

Nigerians have been charged to always engage themselves in physical exercise for healthy living.

This was the message from the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Engr. Habu Gumel, at the 2026 Olympic Day Celebration held across the country on Saturday 4 July 2026 in collaboration with the Sports For All Commission of the NOC.

Delivering the goodwill message from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos, Gumel who was represented by the Chairman of Sports For All Commission, Dr. Abdul Ibrahim, highlighted the importance of health for All at the one-day event held annually all over the world to remind people of the Olympic value.

The Lagos event as coordinated by the Sports For All secretary, Augustine Odigie, was not only beautiful but colourful as people jogged, danced, had fun and engaged in physical exercises.

Participants were also entertained with some side attractions by WBC Muatai Kickboxers, led by coach Chinedu, popularly known as ‘ Koboko’, Karate, Roller Skaters, Tug-of-War and Dancers that added colours to the event.

At the end of the events, certificates were presented to all participants.
