Three brothers in police net for killing security guard on Xmas Eve

Ogun State Police Command has arrested three brothers for allegedly beating an official of the state security outfit, ‘’So Safe Corp’’ to death on the eve of last Christmas celebration.

The deadly brothers, Okiki Mulero 23, Micheal Mulero 21, and Joseph Mulero 17, were said to have beaten and killed the corps officer who was on guard duty at OGD Estate Asero to death.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police who confirmed the incident said trouble started when one of the suspects, a commercial cyclist was denied entrance into the estate for carrying more than one passenger contrary to the rule of the estate.

Oyeyemi went further to state that the guard’s refusal infuriated Mulero who called his two brothers, who came to the scene and jointly attacked the two security guards with planks.

‘’In the process, one of the security men, Segun Godfrey Barde, was hit with a plank and he slumped.

The PPRO said Barde was subsequently rushed to O&A hospital where he gave up the ghost on Christmas day while receiving treatment.

He said case was reported at Obantoko Divisional Headquarters by the CDA executives of the estate, consequent upon which the Divisional Police Officer, Sunday Opebiyi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, detailed his detectives to go after the suspects who were subsequently apprehended one after the other.

The Police officer added that the suspects have all confessed to the commission of the crime,Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfers of the case to the homicide section of the command’s criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.

The corpse of the victims had been deposited in the mortuary for postmortem examination.
