Gunmen again in the early hours of Thursday morning unleashed terror at the headquarters of Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.
The hoodlums burnt down the council secretariate complex.
Two local vigilante group members and one of the Gunmen were killed in exchange of gunfire.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the area at about 1.30 am with sporadic shots.
There was exchange ginfire between the Gunmen and members of the local vigilante group.

The hoodlums were said to have overpowered the vigilante operatives before gaining entrance into the local government complex
It was further learnt that the gunmen headed for the administrative block of the council area and burnt down the building.
Also torshed were the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, the Civil Defense building, the National Youth Service Corps office and the health department of the council area.
Residents were forced to flee as they complained that the shooting was heavy which lasted for about three hours.
A cording to one of the residents, during the attack, two members of the Ihiala local vigilante group were shot while the gunmen lost one of their gang members in the shoot-out.
Recall that two weeks ago, gunmen attacked the Ihiala Police Division office before latest recent.

A similar attack had occured last year when the gunmen had attacked and burnt down the home of the Deputy Speaker Anambra state House of Assembly as well as the the two buildings belonging to the President General of Osumoghu Community in Nnewi South local government area.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra state Police Command DSP Toochukwu Ikenga could not be reached for commment as at the time of this report.
