Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Sani Musa has commiserated with the family of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah over his death which occurred in London, United Kingdom on Friday.
Musa, who is representing Niger East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, stated this in a tribute, which he signed and made available to journalists in Abuja.
Part of the tribute read, “It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I write this tribute to my dear friend, confidant, brother, and colleague, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
“Our journey together has been one of unwavering support, shared dreams, and lasting memories. I recall many years ago when Sir Emeka Offor introduced us to each other at his residence. From that moment, a strong bond was formed, one that has only grown deeper over the years.
“Together, we transitioned from the world of business to the realm of politics, and ultimately, to the esteemed role of lawmakers. Throughout this journey, we stood by each other, sharing our experiences and offering mutual support and encouragement.
“Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was a man of great vision and dedication. His commitment to his constituents and his passion for service were truly inspiring. Our conversations at both our residences were filled with insights, wisdom, and a shared commitment to making a difference.
“Though his passing leaves an immense void in our lives, we must take solace in the fact that God loves him more and has called him home. We trust in God’s plan and pray for the strength to bear this significant loss.
“To his beloved family, especially his wife and children, my deepest condolences. May God grant you the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Also yesterday, the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, (NILDS) Prof Abubakar Sulaiman, expressed profound shock and sadness at the news of the passing of Ubah, who was the Chairman of Capital Oil Group.
Sulaiman extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who has lost an illustrious member of the Senate, the entire National Assembly, as well as the government, and the people of Anambra State.
He said Senator Ubah, who represented Anambra South senatorial district and served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream until his death, was recognised for his commendable service in the National Assembly.
Sulaiman described him as a dedicated and committed public servant, a perfect gentleman, and a silent achiever.
He noted that his untimely passing would be deeply felt by those he represented, his colleagues, the National Assembly, and NILDS.
He prayed for his soul to rest in peace and for God to grant strength to his loved ones during this difficult time.
