It was a horrifying scene on Thursday in the commercial town of Onitsha in Anambra State as an angry mob set three persons on fire at the Upper Iweka end of the town.
The victims were visited with jungle justice for their alleged involvement in the theft of the handset.
A source close to the scene said the men were operating with a tricycle to dispossess a victim of his phone.
Nemesis however caught up with the suspects as they were given a hot chase by the angry mob who later got hold of them and beat them to pull.
According to the source: “The incident happened at Upper Iweka motor park, almost Infront of Star Sunny motor park, in Onitsha. The men who were operating with a tricycle stopped and dispossessed a man of his phone. As they went back into the tricycle and made to drive off, the tricycle malfunctioned and refused to start.”

“They became panicky, and in the process, some boys who were loading vehicles at the motor park quickly descended on them, beating them up.”
“Some people brought tyres and others brought fuel, and they were set ablaze immediately. Their remains is still here now smoking,” the source said.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga was not available to comments as at the time of filing this report.
